A Child's Christmas

Once again it’s that very special time of year;

So I send this message to all I hold dear;

In the warmth of our houses during the season so cold,

We adorn a tree with colors of red, green and gold;

We decorate our yards and houses in lights all a glow,

And we anticipate that morning we find a blanket of snow;

We shop for all of our loved one’s, to find that special gift,

And as they are unwrapped, we watch for eyes that lift;

We go to our place of worship on the night Christ was born,

We sing praises in His name, and we await Christmas morn;

The feelings the Season brings; memories of past Christmas days,

When I was a just a child, and so blessed in many ways;

I did not know the sorrow or the pain it brings for some,

The loneliness’ and depression is sometimes hard to overcome;

I did not se the concern; the message in the eyes of the old,

May you always have a child’s Christmas is what they often told;

Hold on to your child’s heart it will help along the way,

And share all your love, peace, and cheer each and every day;

My gift to you is a child’s Christmas of love, peace, and cheer,

And may God keep you and bless you in the new coming year.
