Touch of Tomorrow

Saddened over words received from a friend, I am reminded that we all have our own journey to travel and the scenery is often different. After a night of skiing with my boy, I returned home and to my thoughts. I was drawn to look through some of my old drawings and poetry to remind myself to stay the course. Sobriety. Love. Peace. Joy. And so I share one of my published poems. Enjoy!20140220-074733.jpg

The Artist

It's been a while my friend

Time has passed and things have changed

The sky is still blue and the rain still falls

But my eyes see more clearly

As I've seen more rainbows

And my heart is a little bigger

As I've shared a golden sunset

And my mind is a little sharper

As He's granted my wish upon that star

My hearing is more receptive

I've lain on the beach staring into the sky

Listening to the water's surf

And realized what a beautiful artist He is

I've been freed of hate and anger

I've been filled with love and compassion

Days are so very precious

And my nights so peaceful

I feel so fortunate to have such treasures

I thank Him every day.
